The King Rod- 2004
The 8 ball Krate chopper by Bas, front man of ULS, needed a big restyling. The plan was to make a HotRod lowdrag using the 8 ball krate, only the frame and sissybar were used from the original bike.
In order to create a HotRod style, we use a fat tire for the rear and a small slick tires and a lengthened bent 20’’ fork for the front. Therefore, we used 20 x 3 Hoggy tires for the back and a Tioga slick for the front on gold plated rims. The typical V6 “engine” is made from some gansta mufflers… The saddle is shortened and stuffed, the frame got decals, the mufflers were painted and this bike was also ready to ride. Unexpectedly, the KingRod won the first prize in the cruiser election of the year in the LL class.

2005
And with the approaching cruiser COTY, we invested some extra time in the KingRod, which returned to the garage after some adventures with Bas. We were also working on the FBR 346 project and needed rims. It turned out that Rigida had some fun rims in stock. What to think of a 20 x 4” as seen in the Schwinn Stingray’s…This discovery created the opportunity to fulfill old promises: a real HotRod trike lowrider.
Since we liked the original gold plated rims, we decided to give the Rigida rims a golden paintjob. We used a DHL 100 in 20” for the rear wheels and DHL 42 in 20” for the front. Yoda’s hot water bottle, for which he had no use anymore, provided the perfect fake pump. The old trike kit, that had been in the basement for years finally served its purpose.
Extra holes were drilled in the wide rims, so that the spokes would fit on one side of the rim. The holes that remained were filled with spikes. For an identical look at the front, a 32 holes hub is used for a 48 holes rim. The rest of the holes are also filled with spikes.
It is ready for the first back-to-back in the COTY LL class and yes, turned out to be the winner.

THC Lowrider- For the real gangsters of Oostzaan, northern part of Amsterdam, we built this lowrider. THC, known for their hit Zina and other songs, used this bike in their video In the Noordside. This video can be found on the most recent THC album Artikel 140.
This project started with a lowrider bondo frame that was painted matt black. DR JAY used his graffiti skills for the paint job. The bike was first shown at Stars on Wheels 2005, Antwerp.
